How to create an email campaign with Sendinblue

Creating Your Contact List

Before you can send out an email campaign, you have to import and organize your contacts first. Here’s how you can do that.

  1. Login to your Dashboard and click on Contacts found on the top menu.

  1. On the top right part just below the menu, there are two buttons: Add a contact and Import contacts. If you want to add only a few contacts maybe 1 or 2, use add a contact button. If you have a lot more contacts, click on Import contacts.

  1. For this tutorial, we will click on Import contacts, after clicking the button select Upload a file. Choose the file you want uploaded then map the data by choosing what field is the email, last and first name.

Note: The file can be either .csv or .txt file.

  1. After uploading the file and mapping the data, choose a list on where to put the contacts on. If you don’t have a list yet click on Create a list.
  2. After that click on Confirm to finish the creation of your contact list.

Setting Up the Campaign

After importing and organizing your contacts, you can create your email campaign. Take a look at the step-by-step guide below.

  1. Click on Campaigns found on the top menu.
  2. On the top right part click on Create an email campaign.

  1. Give your new campaign a name, insert a subject line and choose the sender email and name. Click on Next Step on the top right part of the page.
  2. There are 3 ways to design your email: drag & drop editor, rich text editor and paste your code method. For this tutorial, we will use the drag & drop editor.

  1. With the drag & drop editor, just design your email the way you like it. After you are satisfied with your work, click on the Save & Quit button found on the top right part of the page.
  2. You will be shown a preview of your email, here you can send a test email to see how it looks like on the inbox. If all looks good, go to Next Step.
  3. Choose which contact list you want to send it to. Click on Next Step.
  4. You have reached the confirmation page, do some final checks then send the email by clicking Schedule. You have the option to either send it immediately or schedule.

Monitoring your results

After successfully sending out your first email campaign, you can monitor the results throught he statistics tab.

  1. On your Dashboard, click on Statistics found on the left side menu.
  2. Scroll down to email campaigns and check your stats.
  3. If you want a more detailed view, click on report found on the rightmost side of the email campaign row.
